DESCRIPTION:3rd Sandakan Photography Contest In conjunction with Sandakan Fest 2007
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. This contest is open to all (including non Malaysians).
2. 1st prize winners of the open categories in the last two contests and the committee members of the organizing
agencies are not eligible to enter this contest.
3. This contest is divided into two (2) categories:
Category 1: Beautiful Sandakan (including Sandakan town, culture and people)
Category 2: Nature (including flora, fauna & natural sceneries within Sandakan area)
Sandakan area includes Selingan, Lankayan, Kinabatangan, Gomantong, Telupid & Beluran
4. Each participant may submit a maximum of 2 entries for each category.
5. Prizes:
Category 1 First Prize: ………………. RM1,000/=

Certificates will be given to the winners.
6. Entries must be in digital (minimum 3 megapixels in fine quality). Film or slide based format are not
accepted. Entries must be taken from January, 2006 onwards. You are encouraged to print or process at
Sandakan Foto (Bandar Kim Fung, Tel: 238728 or town centre, Tel: 218728),
Photo De Moment (Bandar Indah, Tel: 236323)
Foto Digital (Bandar Taman Tyng Shopping Arcade, Tel: 671191)
7. Only color prints (8”X10”) will be accepted and should be mounted on a white card board (12”X14”).
CD of the digital images must be submitted together with prints.
8. All entries must be original (must show original image file) and have not been published. Optimization of
images, such as colour contrast and brightness are allowed. The entries are NON-RETURNABLE and deemed
the property of the organizers. Participants retain the copyright of the photographs submitted. However, the
entries may be used or reproduced by the organizers/sponsors for promotional purposes.
9. It is the responsibility of the participants to ensure all photographs are free from restrictions for entering this
contest and for reproductions.
10. The organizers will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to an entry.
11. All entries can be sent to any of the co-organizers below and should reach by 11 May, 2007:
• The Sabah Society-Sandakan, PPM 255 Elopura, 90000 Sandakan,
• The Rainforest Discovery Centre, Forest Research Centre, P. O. Box 1407, 90715 Sandakan, or
• Any Sandakan Foto outlets
12. The organizers have the right to reject any entry without any explanation.
13. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable with cash.
14. The judges’ decision will be final.
15. The prize-giving ceremony and an exhibition will be held during the Sandakan Fest 2007.
